NCE Soccer is offering a free ‘Get Into Soccer’ taster session for young boys and girls in Southern California.
The National Center of Excellence wants to encourage the very youngest kids to start their soccer journey off on the right foot by teaching the basics without the pressure.
The ‘Futures’ taster session will be held at Otis Gordon Sports Field in Duarte, CA on September 18th for players born 2014-2018.
Futures is for everyone, regardless of ability, and is designed to help youngsters fall in the love with the beautiful game.
Created as an introductory training program for U5-U9 players, Futures is soccer without pressure, designed to ignite a passion for soccer and establish solid fundamentals.
“It’s about having fun for a soccer ball, running around and playing soccer with friends and playing with a smile,” explained NCE Soccer Southern California Director Paul Hennessey.
“Its how we all fell in love with the game, it’s the thing that keeps us coming back and at that age it is still pure, miles away from the pressure and competition that comes with the later years.
“It is also much easier to teach players better technique when they are in the right environment, when they are having fun and doing something they enjoy.
“And if they learn proper technique from an early age, and crucially if they decide the enjoy the sport, they will progress as they grow so much quicker than others.
“It’s a lovely program and the taster session is a great way for the players and their parents to come along and see for themselves.”
The National Center for Excellence has been providing supplementary soccer programming for young players on the East Coast of America for a number of years – with a focus aimed at maximizing the potential of elite youth players.
Venues in New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania have developed a string of players who have gone onto sign professional contracts in the USA and beyond and be snapped up by top Colleges and Universities.
MLS history maker Maximo Carrizo graduated through the NCE Soccer Program and went onto become the youngest player to sign pro terms in Major League history.
Former players Curtis Ofori joined Red Bulls II and recently represented Red Bulls against Barcelona whilst Cooper Flax, Diego Rossi and Dren Dobruna, all signed for New York City Football Club.
NCE Soccer will begin the same elite Center of Excellence Programming in Southern California in September for players aged 8-18-years with eight-week programs at three venues.
COE and College ID Players myst earn their place via tryouts and the standard is unashamedly high. This is about making the best players, better.
“Futures is very different, Futures is about fun, still with a focus but delivered from a team of highly skilled coaches will will absolutely ensure the children are developing the best possible technique,” Paul added.
“The Taster session will run at Otis Gordon Sports Field in Duarte, CA on September 18th for players born 2014-2018 over the course of 90 minutes.
“Hopefully the players and the parents will like it and an eight-week program will follow running from September 25th until November 13th.
“We know there are lots of lots of youngsters interested, intrigued by soccer, but might be worried about taking their first step. Futures is here to remove that doubt and show them the benefits of this incredible game.”
