Passion and Purpose

Hugo’s journey into coaching is deeply personal. Having immigrated to the United States at the age of 12 without speaking any English, soccer became his bridge to opportunity. The sport gave him a sense of belonging, helped him grow as a person, and opened doors he never thought possible.

“Soccer made me who I am today,” Hugo says. “Coaching is my way of giving back—to create opportunities for the next generation, just as soccer did for me.”

The NCE Soccer Difference

Hugo chose to join NCE Soccer because of its singular focus on player development. Unlike clubs, NCE Soccer isn’t tied to team results or league standings. Its sole mission is to help players reach their full potential.

“NCE’s high standards align perfectly with my philosophy. It’s all about the players—about improving them, attracting the best talent, and connecting them with the best developers. Iron sharpens iron,” Hugo explains.

Hugo is particularly excited about creating systems for individual player development. His expertise lies in designing programs that foster technical and tactical growth tailored to each player’s needs.

“Players should be excited to work with me because I’ve proven I can help top talent improve. If we find the right player and the timing is right, we can open any doors in the country”, he says.

Proven Success Stories

Hugo has played a pivotal role in the development of several elite players, including:

    • Justin Haak – NYCFC Midfielder
    • Aziel Jackson – Columbus Crew Midfielder
