NCE Soccer is offering a lifeline to players abandoned by the US Soccer’s Development Academy.

The National Center of Excellence is offering elite young soccer players affected by the controversial decision to axe the US DA the opportunity to continue their soccer education at the highest level.

NCE Soccer will consider a huge expansion of the Centre of Excellence and College ID programs to accommodate those players affected by the the controversial closure of the US DA.

Parents of those children affected by the shocking news that the DA has been scrapped are invited to get in touch with NCE Soccer to discuss opportunities to join the NCE Soccer program.

Devastating

NCE Soccer Technical Director and founder John Curtis, said: “This is a devastating blow for thousands of talented young players in the US. It’s yet another seismic shift in the youth soccer landscape, that will leave many players unsure as to which direction to turn.

“NCE Soccer stand here ready to help. We will work to provide selected players affected by the US DA shut down with a pathway that has been specifically created to help prepare them for whatever challenges lay ahead.

“Players affected by the decision have the opportunity to tryout for NCE Soccer’s COE and College ID programs – to ensure they continue to get the best coaching and advice.

“We pride ourselves on delivering the highest standards and are very selective, ensuring our programming is always of the highest level.

“We already have established centers in our New England, New York Metro and the Mid-Atlantic regions and will be announcing our new regions of North Atlantic and South Atlantic to begin in September.”

International Recognition

Thousands of youngsters, their families and clubs, were left devastated by the Tuesdays controversial – and unexpected – decision to axe both the boys and girls leagues.

Now NCE Soccer, the National Centre of Excellence,  established by former Manchester United and England youth star John Curtis, to provide elite supplementary junior soccer coaching, remains ready to welcome those youngsters to the NCE program.

Curtis, a graduate of the acclaimed English Football Association’s Lilleshall School of Excellence in the UK, is a former teammate of David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, and has established an unrivalled set of contacts during his career.

The addition of US goalkeeping legend Brad Friedel ensures NCE Soccer are able to place the very best soccer students on trials throughout the US, Europe and around the world.

“We will do whatever we can do to assist the players and their parents,  providing them coaching and assisting in their journey,” Curtis, added.

“Obviously we still need to get through this current Covid-19 scenario, but once the authorities say its safe, we will begin our seasonal tryouts.

“As a result of this change we are accelerating our growth by expanding into new regions, ensuring more players from across the country are exposed to our coaching.

Covid-19

The US DA season for 2019/20 was initially cut short because of the global COVID-19 outbreak, but yesterday US Soccer announced the league will be scrapped indefinitely.

Now the US DA has been officially axed and it is expected that the Major League Soccer clubs will consider their own breakaway academy league. There are 26 MLS clubs with academy programs.

Those teams not linked to pro clubs may decide to join existing leagues including the Elite Clubs National League, US Youth Soccer National League, and various high-level regional leagues such as US Club Soccer’s National Premier Leagues (NPL) around the country, but as yet it is unknown.
