NCE Soccer coach Nick Pily has been selected as a National SAAC Representative.

He has been chosen as the Landmark Conference Associate Member Representative for the NCAA Division III Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

The talented goalkeeping coach will work on behalf of students providing them with a voice at a national level – and the NCE Soccer team are delighted for him.

Nick combines his coaching role at NCE Soccer in our North Atlantic region with his studies at Elizabeth College.

He will now also represent Elizabethtown College for the next years on SAAC.

Opportunity

He said: “I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to represent the Landmark Conference as an Associate Member to the National SAAC.

“I am extremely excited to have been selected to the position and look forward to beginning my new role.

“It is my hope that we will continue to enhance our athletic communities and provide our student-athletes with a voice that will be heard on the national scale.”

“As a two-sport athlete, I understand the rigors associated with collegiate athletics and will strive to listen and advocate for my peers who face the same struggles as myself.

“I would like to thank Coach Amy Hough, Skip Roderick, Matt Hamilton, the Elizabethtown community, and the entire Landmark Conference for their belief in me and continued support as we continue to grow together!”

As an Associate Member of the Division III SAAC, Pilny will provide student-athlete feedback and information from the Landmark to its partner conference representative (Centennial Conference) – who serves as the National SAAC representative.

North Atlantic

He will continue to combine his life as a student, representative of SAAC with his coaching role under the leadership of Scott Middlemass in our North Atlantic region.

Scott, added: “Nick has a tremendous work ethic and is a really important member of our team and I’m sure he will be a terrific asset to the NCAA Division III Student Athlete Advisory Committee.

“It is a real honor for him and he should be rightly proud of his selections and I’m sure his knowledge will prove invaluable to our NCE Soccer graduates.”

Elizabethtown Director of Athletics, Chris Morgan, added: “We are tremendously proud of the opportunity that Nick has earned to represent Elizabethtown College and most importantly the Landmark Conference.

“Over the past year and half, Nick has proven to be an outstanding student-athlete, as a teammate and a leader on and off the field and court. He will be a strong advocate on behalf of all Division III student-athletes at the national level, and I’m excited to see where this path takes him.”

The mission of the NCAA Division III National SAAC is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by protecting their wellbeing, fostering a positive image and inclusive environment, along with promoting student-athlete engagement at the national, conference and local levels.”
