NCE Soccer has announced a Summer Soccer Coaching Special – to replace the canceled Spring Program and Residential camps.

We will run invitation-only coaching specials – in accordance to Government social distancing guidelines – across NCE Soccer regions in July and August.

NCE Soccer’s Summer Program will see small groups of selected players working with NCE staff members during our week-long camps.

These intensive programs will run weekly across NCE Soccer regions – and players who were due to attend the Spring program and / or Residential Camps will automatically be invited.

Lockdown

The camps will be open for others to attend but, given the Government lockdown, we will allow those affected by the cancellation of the Spring, residential and overseas tours, first refusal.

NCE Soccer Technical Director John Curtis, said: “We can’t wait to get back onto the field and resume our coaching, this has been a difficult time and everyone is buzzing to get going again.

“We were desperately disappointed to have to cancel the Spring COE and ZONE 1 programs and make a call on the residential camps but we felt it wasn’t fair to keep everyone waiting.

“These have been difficult times but our priority, as always, is to ensure the safety of those attending NCE Soccer coaching programs and we had no choice.

“However, as true champions, in the face of adversity we have found another option and the Summer coaching specials could be even better.

“As we move forward and lockdown restrictions are lifted we may be able to add additional measures, but we now know we can begin planning for the resumption of coaching – and the Summer specials provide the perfect opportunity.”

Guidelines

NCE Soccer plans to run small group camps in July/August within the guidelines provided by the CDC.

These camps will be on offer to the following groups:

  • Girls – Born 2010 through 2005
  • Boys – Born 2011 through 2005
  • Goalkeepers – Born 2009 through 2005

Players who were due to attend the Spring Program, Residential Camp or overseas tours will be given first priority to join the summer camps.

NCE Soccer has also been forced to withdraw from the Surf Cup and players from this year’s College ID program will be rolled into 2020-2021 with these events made up next year.

Those that signed up for the Spring try-outs will be issued a $30 credit towards our Fall tryouts and they will be notified when dates and locations are confirmed.

Curtis, added: “We will release further dates and venues as and when they are confirmed and are excited to be getting back into action and back onto the field.

“Hopefully the NCE Soccer family have embraced the TopTekkers challenge and improved their personal skills. I’m looking forward to seeing how much everyone has improved when we get back out there!”
