NCE Soccer is back!
Finally, after what seems an eternity we are able to get back to doing what we love best.
It seems like forever but the NCE Soccer coaching staff were able to dust off their boots and pump up the balls to celebrate the return of our program, and the Summer Selective Program.
This week we have welcomed the first 30 NCE Soccer stars to our first summer camp at the CT Sportsplex in North Branford, CT – with strict social measuring rules enforced to keep everyone safe.
COE Selective
Two groups of ten joined the COE Selective Girls coaching camp whilst we welcome ten of our budding young goalkeepers to the specialist goalkeeping camp and it was well worth the wait.
NCE Soccer founder John Curtis, explained: “It’s so good to be back, it’s been such a long time and we’ve missed everyone and we have all clearly missed soccer!
“The reaction from the youngsters that joined us left us in doubt they have missed us, just as much as we have missed them.
“We are having to adapt some of the sessions and, due to social distancing, we still can’t play games but, we understand, this rule could change soon so, we will keep everyone posted.
“For now, everyone has to pass a temperature test before they are allowed to train, hand sanitisers are used and we have stretched the groups so each group of ten has their own coach.
Warm-up
The sessi0ns will begin at 9am and run until 12 noon and are structured to ensure those attending reap the rewards.
“We start with a warm-up, so we have been playing head tennis this week and then the groups break for a 45 minute session with one of our coaches. They have a 15 minute water break and then another 45 minute session but the coaches swap, to keep it interesting and work and different aspects of the game.
“We are working on the tactical and technical aspects of the game and then at the end, we introduce the goalkeepers to the groups and work on crossing and handling.
“It has been a terrific start and we have a number of coaching courses planned for the summer, the full details are below.”
US Soccer legend Brad Friedel makes his NCE Soccer coaching debut next week with the first of his goalkeeping clinics at the Hudson Valley Sportsdome in Milton.
