The NCE Soccer Summer Training Camp at Occidental College offers a specialized, professional environment for goalkeepers (ages 8–18) who are ready to master the most demanding position on the pitch.

Our curriculum moves beyond basic shot-stopping, focusing on the modern “Pro-GK” profile. Sessions are built around game-realistic scenarios that integrate the goalkeeper into the flow of play, emphasizing decision-making under pressure rather than isolated repetitions.

Goalkeeper Performance Focus:

• Shot-Stopping & Handling: Technical precision at high speeds, focusing on footwork, hand shape, and body mechanics.
• Distribution & Phase Building: Tactical understanding of how to trigger the attack through accurate throwing, bowling, and passing under pressure.
• Cross Management & Aerial Dominance: Developing the timing, bravery, and positioning required to control the penalty area.
• Scanning & Proactive Sweeping: Enhancing game intelligence to read the game early, manage the defensive line, and act as the “11th player.”
• Psychological Resilience: Professional standards of focus, communication, and accountability in high-stakes moments.

• To help support player identification in our select events, we utilize a player numbering system.
• Every player selected for a Center of Excellence or College Pathway program will be assigned a special NCE Player Number. Players cannot request a number.
• This number will remain with the player for their entire time with NCE and will not change from season to season or year to year. The only exception is if the player does not register for an NCE event for 2 years, their number will be reassigned.
• After registering, you will receive an email in 24 hours informing you of your player's number and instructions on ordering their uniform. Your son or daughter’s number can also be found in your NCE Family Account.

Training Program Refund Policy

We do not offer refunds or credits for our training programs. Upon receipt of payment and confirmation of enrollment, all fees are considered non-refundable under any circumstances. In the event a player is unable to attend a scheduled session, arrangements can be made to attend a make-up session at another training program venue. Should NCE sessions be suspended prior to the completion of the term, and less than 50% of the scheduled sessions have been conducted, a credit will be issued to enrolled participants. The credit amount will be equivalent to the number of remaining sessions, less a $120 administrative fee. Issued credits may be applied towards future NCE programs. Injured participants unable to complete a program may be eligible for a credit for missed sessions, less a $120 administrative fee.
