Gothia Youth World Cup

The Gothia Cup is the world’s largest international youth football tournament.

Each year the competition, held in Sweden, attracts around 1,700 teams from 80 nations around the world playing 4,500 games across 11 fields in a fabulous week of top class soccer.

NCE Soccer Girls teams compete in the competition every year and in 2019 our Under 13s were crowned champions of the world.

Gothia Cup, Sweden

The Gothia World Cup provides NCE Soccer’s best female players with an opportunity to shine.

The competition is the biggest youth soccer tournament on the planet is a huge occasion for players and fans alike, played in front of huge crowds in the stunning city of Gothenburg in Sweden at the end of July.

NCE Soccer have enjoyed huge success at Gothia in the past taking on and beating some of the best female Academy teams in the world across a variety of age groups.

The tournament provides an incredible opportunity for our girls to showcase their skills and to make new friends, whilst our supporters tour allows families and friends to follow their progress and enjoy sight seeing in Gothenburg.

Tournament Training Camp: Stony Brook University

NCE Soccer will hold a pre-tournament training camp in the USA – to give our girls the best hope of success at Gothia.

Players selected for Gothia are selected from across NCE Soccer regions and that the tournament could be the first team some have met, let alone played together as teammates.

So, in 2024 our players will meet up at Stony Brook University for a five-day pre-tournament training camp. This is for players only.

Stony Brook provides the perfect base for tournament preparation with fantastic facilities for our players and coaches to familiarize themselves with each other and work on tactics, shape and formations.

Players will attend seminars and video sessions as coaches focus on the tournament ahead before traveling together as a squad to Sweden, to begin the tournament proper.

Families and supporters are welcome to travel with the squad or meet the NCE Soccer party in Sweden.

Gothenburg

The Gothia Cup is hosted by the Swedish city of Gothenburg.

It is the largest and most international youth soccer tournament in the world involving more than 1,700 teams from more than 80 nations.

The opening ceremony for The Gothia Cup rivals the Olympics for atmosphere and really is a special moment that will never be forgotten.

Organizers will release schedules in September but teams will compete throughout the week to earn a place at Finals Day before a magnificent closing ceremony and a planned return to the US, hopefully with the Gothia Cup secured!
