NCE Soccer are keeping their fingers crossed for Mikaela Howell tomorrow.
She is in the Sky Blue FC squad to face the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday in their final National Women’s Soccer League Fall Series.
But whether she gets game time, after working hard all week, is now down to the management.
NCE Soccer found John Curtis, said: “We really hope she gets a chance to play and really impress.
“I know she is really enjoying being involved and is working really hard but, ultimately, final team selection is down to the coach.
“Sky Blues are a very talented team with some terrific players.
“I know from my own experience, all you can do, is keep your head down, work hard, and hope for a chance.
“We will be glued to the game tomorrow, keeping our fingers crossed she gets a chance to shine.”
Mikaela was signed with the women’s pro team last week after impressing with training.
Her short-term contract runs until the end of the season but it’s the final game of the Fall Series tomorrow at Montclair State.
She is combing her new life as a pro soccer player with her role as Director of Operations at NCE Soccer, training with the Sky Blues and then, resumes her duties at the National Centre of Excellence.
Last week she made the bench for the Sky Blues narrow defeat against Washington Spirit at Montclair State.
Sky Blue FC have three points through three games in the Fall Series. The team currently sits in 6th place in the league standings.
The match-up with the Chicago Red Stars will be broadcast on Twitch and on CBS All Access so you can follow the action and cheer her on!
