Former Premiership League star Tyrone Mears has officially joined NCE Soccer.
The talented defender will begin working immediately with the elite soccer program coaching in the Fall and throughout the Winter.
Tyronne was a VIP guest of NCE Soccer last month and he enjoyed his visit so much he decided to join.
He said: “I am really looking forward to coaching at NCE. The set-up and organization is one of the best I’ve seen in the private sector and I can’t wait.
Values
“I share the same values and philosophy as NCE Soccer’s founder John Curtis and I am committed to developing young athletes.
“What has pushed me to take this opportunity is John’s vision to expand his organization to the major cities all over America.
“He wants to bring top quality coaching to young soccer players, and offering the very best in coaching education to coaches across America will go along way to promoting and developing, the very best young athletes in the States.”
Premier League
Tyrone only recently retired from playing in the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion and had been considering his next steps when he visited NCE Soccer last month.
The 37-year-old already has his Green Card to work in America following his success in the Major League Soccer with Seattle Sounders.
NCE Technical Director John Curtis, said: “We are delighted to welcome Tyrone to the NCE Soccer family. It is a great coup for us and shows the extent of ambition to grow and add better quality.
“Tyrone has only recently retired from playing at the very highest level and is a top-class professional who demands the best.
Inspiration
“He brings excellent coaching skills and will be an inspiration for our students, we can’t wait to work together.”
Tyrone enjoyed a hugely successful career playing for West Ham, Derby County, Burnley and Seattle Sounders.
He worked with Tata Martino at Atlanta United and a short spell at Minnesota United with Adrian Heath before returning to the UK to join West Brom.
Since hanging up his boots Mears has been studying a Master’s Degree in Sports Directorship and is due to finish his UEFA ‘A’Licence, as well as coaching with Manchester City’s Academy.
