NCE Soccer will be bigger and better than before once the lockdown finally ends.

That’s the vision of founder John Curtis who has been busy during lockdown, considering ways to improve and expand the impact of NCE Soccer.

He has been proactively talking to former professional players, coaches, and managers, to explore how NCE Soccer can positively influence youth development across the entire country.

Improving

Curtis, said: “Whilst we have missed soccer, we have been able to use the lockdown period to really reflect about the future direction of NCE.

“We’ve done a good job delivering NCE programming in our current regions, however we can always improve what we do and have an even greater impact on player development in the US.

“The players we work with will know that we’re never satisfied with their current level and always expect more. We are constantly looking for improvement in players and as an organization.

“I was fortunate to work with some of the very best players and coaches and the theme of constant growth and development was universal amongst them.

Quality

“It isn’t always about soccer either, it’s about developing away from the pitch and becoming a better person and student.

“We can all do better, we can all grow. This constant pursuit of excellence is the heart and soul of NCE Soccer.

“For example, we can look to work within the community, we can look to do things away from football, that gives something back and we have some exciting ideas that we will discuss further.

“On the pitch, we have a team of brilliant coaches and our players are clearly reaping the rewards, but I want to develop that quality and look to have a deeper impact with even more players in the future.”

Coaching News

Curtis resigned from his Assistant Head Coach role at Hartford Athletic and his post at the New York Soccer League at the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic.

He wants to focus on the further development of NCE Soccer and its future plans – that includes a reshuffling and will mean new faces.

Coach Alan O’Keeffe, who has been involved with NCE from the start, sadly won’t be part of the future coaching team. He has decided to explore new opportunities.

Curtis added “Its so sad to see Alan leave, he has been great to work with over the years and been a huge part of our success in the NY Metro region.

“He will be sadly missed by players and coaches alike, we thank him for his tremendous effort and we wish him every success in the future.

“I am looking to appoint a NY Metro Regional Director and we are also growing into new regions. We have visas in process and highly qualified new staff will be joining the team. Some exciting news on this that will be announced soon.

“I also want to pay a tribute to the NCE Soccer team. As most of you will know because of severe lockdown restrictions, we effectively needed to stand everyone down and suspend the business.

“It has been a very difficult time for us and the financial constraints on a small business have made the current conditions extremely tight.

“We also appreciate the understanding shown by those affected by the canceled Summer tours and the Spring program. We have remained in contact with everyone and we will return.

“The NCE team have been brilliant, we have all supported one another, we are raring to get back out on the field and resume all activities – starting with our Summer Day Camps!”

The future for NCE Soccer is bright! Let’s get ready to get back to it!
